This project combines a battery-operated doorbell, antique phone, Arduino, and subscriber line interface circuit (SLIC) to make a wireless doorbell. Readers are taken through basic phone restoration, creation of a custom doorbell button transmitter, modification of the receiver, workings of the SLIC, and description of the Arduino code.[more]

BakerTweet is a way for busy bakers to tell the world that something hot and fresh has just come out of the oven. It’s as simple as turning the dial and hitting the button. All of the baker’s followers get a Twitter alert to tell them that it’s bun-time. Or bread time. Or whatever.The BakerTweet prototype is made up of an Arduino Duemilanove, Arduino Ethernet Shield, Ladyada Proto Shield, a Linksys wifi adapter, and a whole bunch of little parts.[more]

Twitter Burglar Alarm is a burglar alarm that tweets when an intruder enters the house.This project controlled by Arduino which is a simple embedded board with an AVR processor.If it sees that the Intruder alert signal is being asserted at the alarm panel, it generates notifications in the form of an SMS and a Twitter status update.[more]
