Seeker Mini Sumo

Seeker Mini Sumo
This mini-sumo is controlled by a PIC 16F877 micro-controller. The motors are Micromo 1717 gearmotors, and they are powered through a Texas Instruments SN754410NE one amp dual h-bridge. A single NiMh 9 volt battery provides the power for both the electronics and the motors. The tires & wheels are standard R/C racing tires & wheels for street touring cars. The IR range-finders are Sharp GP2D12 analog sensors.[more]

PIC development/testing board

PIC development/testing board
To get started with PIC microcontroller you must have a development/testing board. Here’s a PCB design for a bare bones PIC16F877 development board. All you need is a 4mhz crystal, two 22pf caps, one 4.7k resistor, and eight 470 ohm resistors, a 7805 regulator (not necessarily necessary, read below), and some LEDs (you don’t need to put all 33 LEDs on, just as many as you need to debug your programs).[more]

Digital Thermometer and the RS232 Interface to PC

Digital Thermometer and the RS232 Interface to PC
This digital thermometer was built by using the temperature sensor LM35DZ, PIC16F877 microcontroller and MAX232 IC. Temperature measurements can also be viewed on a computer program which can monitor the state of COM ports of a PC. Sample measurement data received through COM2 is being viewed on the SERIAL WATCHER program which is distributed freely on the internet.[more]
